Pay for Performance is gaining momentum. With its quality/cost focus, aligned incentives, and results achieved to date, that momentum makes sense. The decision for physicians/providers is whether to be proactive or take a wait-and-see approach. We think the latter could be costly, particularly for hospitals with large investments in physician practices and those dependent on large private practices.
