Physician Resource Planner

We offer the Physician Resource Planner for those organizations that wish to develop in-house capabilities in physician manpower planning. The Physician Resource Planner is a web-based toolkit, offering a comprehensive methodology for developing a needs analysis. It includes a workbook with four manpower models, an age analysis tool, an online physician survey, interview guides to help you collect qualitative information and a complete physician inventory. Available on an annual subscription basis, Physician Resource Planner is augmented by eight hours of consulting support as needed.

Planning & Financial Tools

Healthcare Strategy Group offers a variety of web-based planning and financial tools to support physician manpower planning and recruitment and its related financial resource needs projections and management. These tools are soon to be available on an annual subscription basis, and include:

  • Physician Needs Analysis Workbook calculates physician FTE needs by specialty across 4 manpower models, adjusted to reflect prevalence of illness within the local community and technology advancements. The workbook also provides a medical staff age analysis for use in succession planning.
  • Recruitment Plan Impact Summary, projects hospital bottom-line impact of the recruitment plan, for years one, two, and three of the recruitment plan.
  • Financial Impact of Potential Retirements, calculates hospital dollars at risk, by age cohort and specialty, and highlights immediate and long-term concerns.
  • Specialty Proformas for most specialties, for use in determining potential subsidies for physician recruits. These are comprehensive proformas that walk users through the development of revenue, expense, capital, and volume projections.
  • Subsidy Reconciliation Workbook, for use in managing the financial agreements of the subsidy agreement.
